OSAA Foundation

OSAA Foundation Goals and Plans

The OSAA Foundation was created in 2005 with the mission statement: "To enhance the future of Oregon high school activities." With private contributions from individuals, businesses, and foundations, the OSAA Foundation has helped change the landscape of Oregon high school activities.
The OSAA member schools believe in the educational benefits of participating in high school activities. Studies have shown that students who participate in high school activities are likely to have better grades, have less disciplinary issues, and less likely to drop out. In environments where teamwork, self-esteem and cooperativeness flourish, the lessons learned can be taken for a lifetime.

The Goals of the OSAA Foundation will impact in the following areas:

1) For Member Schools:
-Create programs to promote activity and involvement
-Maintain and enhance participation opportunities
-Character education initiatives (Anti-Hazing Awareness DVD's)
-Healthy and safety education (OHSU Atlas & Athena Training, ImPACT Concussion Program Scholarship)

2) For Students:
-Financial support for current students to participate (Student Assistance Program)
-Scholarships to promote education beyond high school

The OSAA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Oregon non-profit corporation, exists through tax-free contributions from individuals, businesses, foundations, and Endowment Game revenue. Contributions are managed responsibly to maintain and enhance programs and fund special initiatives that are important to the OSAA and its member schools. The long range goal of the OSAA Foundation is to grow through OSAA-driven programs and contributions in order to provide a more stable financial base for our member schools and the students of tomorrow.
